Elizabeth Nenge is a Kenyan ceramic artist and founder of ENN Ceramics, a ceramic art studio based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Her practice explores human experience, material, place and the relationship between contemporary ceramic processes and East Africa’s long traditions of working with clay. She works with Kenyan clays and locally sourced materials, combining hand-building, throwing, surface decoration and experimental ceramic processes.

Nenge studied Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, graduating in 2017. Her practice has since developed in Nairobi, where she produces sculptural ceramic works alongside research into Kenyan clay bodies, minerals and firing processes.

Through ENN Ceramics, she is interested in expanding the possibilities of contemporary African ceramics while remaining rooted in the materials, knowledge and landscapes of East Africa.
